Overview

Nola is a vibrant café nestled in the heart of Bangkok’s Sathon district at Somerset Park Suanplu. With a nod to New Orleans’ rich culinary heritage, it brings an authentic taste of southern comfort food combined with a modern café experience. Its ambiance strikes a balance between relaxed and stylish, making it an ideal spot for both early morning kickstarts and leisurely afternoons.

The menu is a curated celebration of soulful flavors and carefully crafted beverages. Standout dishes include the iconic Po’ Boy sandwiches, particularly the Hot Italian Pulled Pork and Fried Cajun Shrimp variants. These are thoughtfully prepared with fresh, soft bread and balanced Cajun seasonings, offering complex but subtle layers that don’t overpower the key ingredients. The inclusion of housemade sauces like classic or spicy remoulade elevates each bite, paired with well-chosen sides such as creamy Southern mac salad or tangy Cajun coleslaw, reflecting a genuine southern influence.

Coffee at Nola is no afterthought. From the silky flat white and rich cappuccino to the refreshing Orange Passion Fizz and the best matcha latte in Bangkok, the drinks menu complements the food beautifully. Many patrons highlight the quality of the coffee—robust, well-extracted, and balanced—as a defining part of their visit. The 6-piece beignets with coffee combo is a simple yet satisfying treat, showcasing crispness with light, fluffy centers and delightful dipping sauces that add a playful texture contrast.

Beyond the signature sandwich and drinks, other dishes like the Southern Potato Salad, Green Goddess Salad, and the biscuit-based offerings, including the Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich, underscore Nola’s commitment to freshness and quality. Desserts like the pecan pie resonate with classic southern richness, balanced perfectly with a tender crust that adds an extra dimension to the sweetness.

The café welcomes a broad audience, from breakfast seekers and brunch lovers to coffee aficionados and those craving a slice of New Orleans-style comfort food in Bangkok. Its open-all-day service caters to a flexible dining experience, though some reviews note a slight wait during busier times—an acceptable trade-off for carefully prepared dishes crafted by attentive chefs. The friendly staff and inviting atmosphere make it a casual, reliable spot to unwind or socialize.

While parking might be limited, Nola’s location within Somerset Park offers easy access for locals and visitors. Whether you’re drawn in by the coffee, the classic Po’ Boy sandwiches, or the charming blend of southern soul and Bangkok hospitality, Nola delivers a memorable and authentic café experience that resonates well beyond its address.

Both drinks and food were exceptional. Coffee was on point, the salad had the best croutons I've ever had on a salad and a fantastic homemade dressing. The sandwich (po'boy) had tasty, fresh bread and subtle flavours that didn't overpower the meat. And it's open all day!

Been back here a few times and the food is very good. Onion rings and the voodoo burger are delicious. The pecan pie is very nice aswell with good balance of flavors and the base/crust is perfect. Did not get photos of the onion rings or pecan pie. The potato salad is perfect and the biscuits and sausage n gravy was pretty good aswell. Definitely a taste of New Orleans It's a shame it's not in Auckland because it would definitely become my go to for great food.

For several decades I made a pilgrimage to New Orleans every year, I would ritualistically walk past Cafe du Monde with three blocks and enter a little shop called Cafe beignet to me this shop has the best beignets in New Orleans they're always hot beautifully fresh and the coffee is exquisite. It has been 7 years since I've been able to indulge in this ritual, career life and other events taking me around the globe then while strolling down a street in Bangkok I saw a sign with white letters on a black background but simply said Nola I entered the shop not knowing what to expect as I have seen hundreds if not a thousands of establishments claiming to provide an experience or claiming to have the style of food from other locations and cultures and had them fall flat I am perplexed at how much these beignets remind me of Cafe beignet, they are flawless fresh warm air filled pastries served with an exceptional coffee, If I close my eyes I can hear a calliope in the distance a top a riverboat This unexpected gem give me a taste of something I've been missing for almost a decade and for that I am ever grateful, I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I look forward to trying the rest of the dishes in this clean simple stylish environment "Laissez les bons temps rouler"

The service was top-notch too! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. As for the atmosphere, the ambiance was cozy and intimate, with a warm and inviting decor that made us feel right at home. The background music was subtle and pleasant, allowing us to enjoy our conversation without distractions. New Cafe in Suan Plu with a great easy vibe, great for both just coffee and also a work space. Very good coffee selection and non-coffee drinks. The breakfast sandwich and fresh shrimp Po Boy are really amazing. Also be sure to order the beignets.
